My first portrait of the amazingly beautiful and powerful Lion titled 'On the prowl' and is the first of hopefully many lion portraits as they are fast becoming my favourite animal to complete.   Sadly their numbers are in decline and are now classed as 'Vulnerable'.  This is beyond sad. 
 
Completed on Saunders Waterford Watercolour paper, a beautiful cotton paper allowing the colours to stand out perfectly, double mounted and framed in a simple black frame with an muted gold inner trim, which sets off his beautiful colouring perfectly.
